Bowmoor Sailing Club – Disclaimer of Liability
Please note that sailors at any age decide to sail entirely at their own risk.
Bowmoor Sailing Club will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after sailing.
Sailors are entirely responsible for their own safety, whether afloat or ashore, and nothing, whether in a Notice of Race or Sailing Instructions or anywhere else, reduces this responsibility.
It is for the sailor to decide whether it is fit to sail in the conditions in which they will find themselves. By launching, the sailor confirms that they are fit for these conditions.
Nothing done or omitted to be done by Bowmoor Sailing Club can reduce the responsibility of the boat nor will it make Bowmoor Sailing Club responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, however it may have occurred.
Parents and Guardians have sole responsibility for their children and wards at all times.
The provision of patrol boats does not relieve the sailor of their responsibilities.
Additional Guidelines
Sailing takes place in an environment that is potentially dangerous. It is the responsibility of all sailors to act at all times with the safety of themselves and of all other sailors foremost in their minds.
All sailors should wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
All sailors must wear adequate personal buoyancy at all times when on the boats.
I understand everything within this document and confirm I accept full responsibility for the safe use of my sail boats or the use of club boats.
