RYA Powerboat Level 2, a two-day entry level course that provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat. The course may be taken by novices new to boating as no previous knowledge is required. This course is half price for members.

Description
The course will be run over 2 days by an RYA Powerboat Instructor. The minimum age for participants is 12 years old. Certificates awarded for those aged 12-16 will be endorsed to the effect that they should only drive a powerboat under the supervision of a responsible adult. The price of the course includes – RYA Powerboat Logbook, RYA Start Powerboating book and upon successful course completion the Level 2 Certificate.
The course covers:
- Launching and recovery
- Boat handling
- Securing to a buoy
- Anchoring
- Leaving and coming alongside
- Man overboard
Participants should bring waterproof clothing and non-slip footwear, together with a Personal Flotation Device (either buoyancy aid or lifejacket)
