Hello Bowmoor,
Storm Bert arrived in full force on Saturday and Sunday, with gusts topping force 11 (60 kts) early on Sunday morning. Windsurfing was very popular on Saturday. Unfortunately, a number of boats were damaged as a result of the gusts on Sunday. Many thanks to everyone who turned out to help.
It’s a great reminder to check your boats again, the wind was so strong that tie downs were ripped out of the ground. I'm sure this won't be the last storm this winter!
On Saturday we’re hosting ever popular Bowmoor Bubble RS Aero open event which means that there will be restrictions in place for access to the lake. On Sunday we return to the usual club racing format.
Installation of the solar panels is completed, and I’m pending confirmation that they were commissioned today. Many thanks again to the facilities team for making this happen, solar should provide around 50% of our electrical requirements each year.
Christmas Dinner – 15th December: Please remember to book and pay for your lunch with the Galley or via email and online payment to dave@hackettsgroup.co.uk
Club Security: Please take this seriously, lock up the club house and padlock the metal gate if you are last to leave. It only takes 30 seconds.
I’ve also had an update from Yoo on their planning application, I’m pleased to report that they have taken on feedback from our members and changed their approach, details below.
See you at the club!
