For every extra degree Celsius of air temperature the air can hold 7% more water. The lake level is the highest I’ve seen for a long time after recent rainfall. Please do not drive into the boatpark and don’t drive on the grass until the surface water passes, don’t get your car stuck. The usual tracks have been blocked with bollards.
The forecast looks reasonable for the weekend, we have the Byte Inlands on Saturday, so there will be restricted access to the water, please check with the race officer.
On Sunday (14kt gusting 20kt at 13:00) the plan is to run three single start handicap races as we are on the weekend between the Summer and Winter Series. This format has been popular and produced some great racing, first start will be at 11:30.
For our OOD and Safety Boat team, the Committee Boat ‘Footloose’ has now been moved onto its long term, more substantial, mooring. Please return to the same location and clip directly into the galvanised eye splice on the attached pickup float, easily done from the starboard side of the committee boat itself.
From October 6th we run the 3rd Sunday race as an introduction, so if you are interested in getting started with club racing please plan to join in for a 15:00 start.
Having just finished the Summer series, Geoff has updated the sailors league results, top 15 below. Well done!
