It feels like summer is here at last, Saturday gave perfect wind for member coaching and 2024’s inaugural Cruising Section meeting led by John Murrell. Tom and Martin had our RYA level 1 adults confidently single handed by lunch. Sunday continued with more great conditions and, if possible, even more sunshine.
The RS 30th Anniversary games was attended by 19 Bowmoor Sailors, report from John below.
Next weekend we have a visit from the Ukrainian Scouts and on Monday the Allied Dunbar Cup, registration from 09:30 and briefing 10:45.
Excitement for 2024 Bowmoor Camp continues to build, Charlie and Tash have done a fantastic job in bringing this together for the 29th.
Members BBQ: Don’t forget that we’ll end camp with a BBQ for all members on Friday 31st. To buy tickets for the BBQ please click here (£8 adult, £5 children).
Youth Regatta: On the Saturday 1st June, we host the largest youth event of the calendar, the Lakes By Yoo Regatta click here to register. Sarah Davies has organised some fantastic prizes and every participant will win something.
Power cut: We’ve been told that there will be a power cut on May 28th between 08:30 and 16:30 while SSE cuts tree branches in proximity to overhead cables. The club will be open as usual, just with no electricity/refrigeration/etc.
I’m taking holiday next week to join camp, so there will be no Bowsprit. Hope to see you at the club and good luck to our GCSE and A-Level students!
