Commodore's Note

Good Evening Bowmoor!

Today is the last evening of the Wednesday Spring Racing Series and I've heard that conditions have been good most Wednesday's (although I've been stuck at work).  Everything being well, I'm there this evening and the summer Wednesday series starts next week!

A member reached out to me this week because they had run into a trolley that had been left submerged after launching.  Please take the time to return your trolley to the shore as you launch.  Since submerged launching trolleys can do plenty of damage, I'm sure other sailors will help you.

In happier news, GREAT results from the WPNSA South and SouthWest Champs, brief write up below.  Well done Tilly, Josh, and Jasper!

Club Security:  Don't forget to lock the metal gate if you are the last to leave the club at any time of day.

News and Events
South & South West Regional Junior Champs

It's fantastic to see our young members representing Bowmoor at the WPNSA last weekend.  Josh Pickard and Jasper Keck were first RA Feva SW Boys and fourth overall, and Tilly White was RS Tera fourth South West Girl.

A fantastic two days racing at the WPNSA, who put on the usual spectacular weekend with 146 competitors in various classes.

8 Hour Race

This year the Steve Robertson Memorial Trophy returns as the 8 Hour race, on Saturday 5th July.

The 8hr race is an open meeting, not limited to just Bowmoor Sailors, please extend the invite to your sailing friends!

8 Hr Race Entry
Club Training Boats

In other news, we finally found a club Zest trolley submerged 20m from the training park.  A member had launched, left the trolley in the water where it floated away and sank and when finished they then popped the Zest onto a spare feva trolley, damaging the hull.  We've also had Tera's left rigged on the shore and others with parts removed or re-rigged and broken as a result.

This really doesn't work at Bowmoor, there are no staff, so if you subscribe to use club boats then please look after them.  Bowmoor owns a training fleet so that we can use them to deliver RYA training.

I've asked the sailing committee to look at this to see if we need to change our approach.
