Hello Bowmoor SC Members!
I’d like to start off by thanking all of you that joined in for the members work party on Saturday - what a productive crew and a great atmosphere at the club! There will be photo’s on Facebook.
Just like last weekend, the forecast for the coming weekend looks great for the start of our Spring Series and three races on Sunday.
Please note that we’ve received notification from SSE that there will be a power outrage at the Club on Tues 22nd April between the hours of 9am and 4 pm. This is the day after Easter Monday, so we will leave the barrier raised on the day, but ask that our metal gate is kept locked.
On a similar note, Carolyn has highlighted that there is currently a spate of crime in Lechlade, an excavator was stolen from the cricket club, and there have been several cars broken into. Please can all members continue to prioritise club security, keep things locked up and check that exterior doors and the metal gate are locked if you are the last to leave. Thank you!
Doug is looking for support to build 19 new sail lockers, if you can help then please contact him at membership@bowmoor.com.
A minor moan, please can I ask that members stop re-rigging the swim flag? We’ve had to replace it twice in two weeks due to the damage caused. The flag is permanently rigged and should be left clipped on and stored in the tube when not in use. Simply pull the rope to raise or lower, please resist all other urges :)
A reminder that it's school easter half term between 7th and 28th April which means that using the activity board for mid week term time swimming stops between those dates, please only swim before 09:30 and after 16:30 (in the western end swim area) during school holidays.
There are a few spaces available for camp during May half term - book here.
Finally, we discovered that many of the railing posts on the decking are rotten at the base, the rest of the deck structure is fine. While we’re taking remedial action and getting them replaced, please can I ask everyone to take care and avoid leaning on the railing?
Thank you!
