Swimming Access
Bowmoor Open Water Swimming Access – Important for all members to read and understand.
During the Covid pandemic, we have successfully run a programme of Club activity that has separated open water swimming from sailing and windsurfing activity through use of a booking system. The booking system was a requirement to meet our Covid-secure responsibilities. We are required to separate swimming and boating activity by time and/or space for insurance purposes. From 19th July we will not need to maintain a booking system so to meet our insurance obligations, Open Water Swimming can take place as follows:
- Before 9:30am on any day of the week. Swimmers may use the whole lake.
From 16:30pm on any day of the week. Swimmers may only swim in Western end of the lake beyond the line of the small yellow buoys. Swimmers must enter and exit the water at the Western end of the dinghy park and must not swim across the launching areas in front of the dinghy park. From 1st Nov to 1st Mar the time will be 15:30 until dusk
