On Sunday, Alastair Stagg, OOD, led the weekends race team.  With an easterly that constantly tried to flick north he chose a committee boat start for another great turn out.  Alastair’s committee boat feedback was “Overall I was impressed and even might go as far as saying I enjoyed myself – this would never have happened on the old boat!” This is high praise indeed from Alastair.  Feedback from him and David Fewings is helping us configure the new boat to make it even easier for our OOD’s.  Please do continue with feedback as you use the new boat.

We’re looking into adding a racing rules refresh section to Bowsprit after a nomination for a reminder on 18.2 due to Sunday's race.  This always seems to be an area of discussion, on and off the water, so for those who are keen the RYA do a good series:

Clarification on Water Closed notices: When the club marks the water as closed for an event in the calendar this does not mean that the lake is shut for the whole day, typically the event will be on the water from 11am till 4pm.  At each event the Race Officer or Event Coordinator will be available to confirm timings.

Saturday was a massive win for the Bowmoor Youth (and not so youth) Team.  Detailed results below, Congratulations to all!

The Seldén Sailjuice winter series is 8 events, all around the country from November 2023 to February 2024, ranging from The Yorkshire Dales to Oxford.

Many of Bowmoor's finest young sailors have braved long journeys and wintery conditions to bring home amazing results for Bowmoor SC.

Bowmoor achieved second place in Top Club rankings only to be beaten by Draycote Water SC, the club which hosted the first 2 day event thereby, ensuring a huge home location advantage.

Hundreds of sailors and over 60 classes of boats registered for this annual event. Bowmoor's Chris Hatton won 1st place in his RS300.
