When can I camp?
You can camp on grassed areas between 1 April and 30 September. Caravans and campers may also use the car park hard standing October to Marsh. Pods cannot be occupied in January.
You may only stay on site continuously for a maximum of 10 days (unless otherwise licenced). Tents and caravan cannot be left on site unoccupied.
Guests (adults) must pay a £5/night temporary membership fee, at the bar, to comply with planning permissions.
Where can I camp?
You may camp on the grass fields surrounding the club within club grounds. Please check the ground before driving onto the grassed areas and do not drive onto the grass in the winter months (November to March inclusive). The water table is very shallow, and the ground can be soft; you are likely to damage the ground and probably get stuck. If you damage the ground, your must make repairs.
Camping facilities
There are no facilities for mains power in camping areas, nor should any vehicle be connected to the Club power supplies. Potable water taps are situated at the western end of the clubhouse and boathouse. There is an outdoor washing up area at the back of the club house. There are fridges and limited freezer capacity in the clubhouse. Please remove ALL your food at the end of your stay. The members’ kitchen is available for washing up and limited cooking (microwave). Please do not use the boiling water tap for filling kettles etc; it has a limited capacity and is there to make hot drinks. If you use the kitchen, please tidy up after yourself.
Security when camping
The main gate should be locked before sunset. Please note that the gate must be kept locked during major events such as RIAT. The clubhouse should be locked overnight unless there are 5 or more families camping on site. When the clubhouse main door is left unlocked, the foyer light should be left on. If in doubt, lock the gate and clubhouse (all members have keys).
What about my rubbish?
Ideally take your rubbish home with you after our stay. The clubhouse bins are only for waste from The Galley or meals eaten in the clubhouse or on the decking. The external bins are for dry recycling and landfill waste, please use the appropriate bins if you really need to dispose of waste on site (left-over food, cooking waste and dog waste are NOT dry-recyclable items). We pay for this service so please compact tins and especially plastic bottles to avoid bulking out the bins. |
