Hello Bowmoor!

A reminder that the galley is closed on Sunday 22nd so that the team can take a well earned holiday.  Please remember to bring your own lunch.

A fairly quiet weekend is planned for the 21st/22nd, Sunday racing is happening as usual.  Our first open event is planned for the 28th with the water closed between 10:00 and 16:30.  The club calendar is up to date on the website and we post an extract at the bottom of each Bowsprit, so do keep an eye on these for when the water is closed due to Open events.

Some of you will have noticed the two new displays/monitors that replace one of our notice boards.  The displays connect to our website and will show club news, events, weather, race results and member's for sale adverts. They are entirely self managing, will turn on and switch off automatically based on a schedule.  Please don't try to adjust any settings or use for other purposes, they won't work, do continue to use the club tv next to the bar.

Tash is ramping up the activities in preparation for our 50th Anniversary celebrations, including a competition with prizes! Please take a look at the notices below this weeks photo, which was sent in by Tom, thank you!

To celebrate 50 years of water sports, volunteering and family friendly fun, we're inviting members to create a short video that captures the spirit of Bowmoor.

We want you to show us what Bowmoor means to you: the action on the water, volunteers who keep the club running and the families who just can't get away. Your video can be a mixture of images, clips on and off the water or interviews, it is completely up to you!

The winning video will be chosen by the Sailing committee and the winner will have their video show at the 50th anniversary celebrations, shared on social media and win a £50 amazon voucher. All other videos will also be displayed at the club throughout the year.

All videos must be submitted by the 1st April and sent to sailing@bowmoor.com. If you have any questions, please get in touch with Tash Tustin.

We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to take the lead in organising the come and try day this year on Saturday 6th June. It is one of the most important events in welcoming new families and sailors to Bowmoor.

You don't need experience in running events, just good organisation and a passion for what makes Bowmoor so special. An experienced team will be on hand to provide any support in the lead up and on the day and there is a comprehensive set of lessons learnt from last year.

This opportunity would require no more than 1 hour per week and being available for the come and try day.
