January is speeding past and this week saw blue Monday, more rainfall, more winter. Then Lynn posted a fantastically composed photo taken at the club over the weekend and it lifted my morning, so I've pinched it for Bowsprit, thanks Lynn! Even in winter, Bowmoor SC is fabulous.
That photo followed from last weeks post of a Don Cannon photo after a swim with his mast covered in weed in what looks like pretty fresh conditions, thanks Perri! I think that photo was taken at the old lake and reminded me again of the rich history of Bowmoor SC and that this is our 50th anniversary year.
Save the Date: The club's birthday is on June 25th and we're holding celebrations on the 27th and 28th June. We're planning a fun packed party including food, disco and a live band on Saturday evening and more on Sunday. Please hold the date and keep an eye out for the release of tickets so that you can reserve your spot. You can read up on club history here.
Last weekend we hosted another great Class Association training event for our RS Tera Sailors last weekend. Many thanks to Jo White for organizing.
Executive Secretary: I also want to thank Caroline Doran for volunteering as Secretary on the Exec Committee, after more than 5 years she has decided to step down. Her thoughtful contribution to the exec committee will be missed! This does mean that we're looking for a volunteer to join the exec committee and fill the role as Secretary.
