Hey everyone!
We’ve had plenty going on at the club over the past few weeks, particularly the RS Aero Bubble, our final open in 2025. Congratulations to ladies 1st Sarah Pickard, winners of the RS Aero 9 fleet (1st) Buzz Keck, (2nd) Sam Fewings and (3rd) Richard Gimmler, and to (1st) David Lynall, (2nd) Toby Banbrook and (3rd) Ollie Holden for taking the top spots in the mixed handicap RS Aero 7/6 fleet. There were twenty five sailors in total and five Bowmoor sailors taking top spots just shows the quality of our Aero fleet and Bowmoor's competitive club racing. Well done to organiser Rosemary Dilworth and the race team led by David Nunn. We ended the evening with a social to celebrate four members birthdays, with Phil White’s mum baking the magnificent Aero cake (picture below)!
The calendar for 2026 is published, January is already looking busy, look here or at the bottom of Bowsprit.
It was fantastic to see our Windsurfers and Wing foilers out enjoying the tail end of storm Bram on Tuesday morning. Remember to tie down your boats!
The run up to 2026:
- Saturday 13th December: 10am to midday. ‘Windies’ second hand kit sale, swap, give away, organised by John Banbrook
- Christmas Lunch: Sunday 14th at 14:00 (pre-booking required)
- Winter Series: wraps up on the 14th, 21st and 28th December
- Boxing Day Handicap: AM back-to-back racing
Reminders:
- Car Access: No driving on the grass, please park on the hard standing in the club car park (in double rows if possible).
- Powerboat Fuel: All the club powerboats run 4 stroke petrol engines. Please only use petrol contained in the Red Fuel Tanks or the Green Jerry Cans found in the Fuel Store. Do not use fuel from the Black or Blue Drums in the Fuel Store, which contain Diesel for the tractor. If you are unsure of anything with the powerboats, please ask.
Happy sailing, happy Christmas, and see you on the water!
