Hello Bowmoor! An exciting weekend ahead with the RS Aero Bubble Open event on Saturday, it looks like we have a good forecast. As usual, the lake is closed for the duration of the event.
Although lighter on Sunday, by overnight Monday/Tuesday we are forecast gusting 48 knots (just into force 10) and plenty of rain, make sure you check your tie downs this weekend.
The training park renovations are now completed and we have a large space that we can devote to training and launching for guests during open events. Many thanks to David and the sailing committee for making this happen.
For members of the Bowmoor SC Supporters Club, we have rescheduled the AGM to 12:30 on January 4th 2026 in the James room.
As we discussed at the AGM, while Bowmoor SC continues to attract new members and prosper, the RYA is concerned that participation is declining nationally. Many of us know RYA employees and can see how committed they are to making UK sailing a success, please do take 15 minutes to complete the RYA survey here which is designed to understand what’s working, what isn’t, and where change is most needed.
Looking forward into 2026, we've published the club calendar for next year here. We're also continuing to plan for the Bowmoor 50th anniversary celebration in June, but we still need a few more volunteers to assist, please reach out to me or Tash Tustin. We're organising this now since caterers, marquee's and party games will get booked up.
Speaking of booking, don't forget to book your place at the Christmas Lunch on Sunday 14th December! Come and make your choices at the till on Sunday, or email dave@hackettsgroup.co.uk.
Look forward to seeing you at the weekend!
